At Muta, we believe meaningful change starts by listening. That’s why we created the Trash Talks podcast—a space to highlight the real voices behind Latin America’s recycling and circular economy movements.
What is Trash Talks?
Trash Talks is more than a podcast. It’s a platform to share the experiences of those working at the frontlines of sustainability. We talk to waste collectors, recyclers, entrepreneurs, and community leaders. Many of them are driving change every day, often without recognition.
In each episode, we explore their stories—how they started, what challenges they face, and what keeps them going. These conversations are raw, inspiring, and deeply human.
For example, in our first episode, Muta’s co-founders Estefanía and Alejandro talk about how they began collecting used cooking oil door-to-door in Barranquilla. Over time, that experience led them to build a tech platform that now helps standardize and scale waste collection.
Their story is just one of many. Each guest brings a unique perspective on what it means to transform waste into opportunity.
Featured in Techla
We’re proud that the Trash Talks podcast has already been featured in the media. Techla, a leading outlet for tech and innovation in Latin America, highlighted our launch:
“Muta launches Trash Talks, a new podcast to amplify the voices of recycling and the circular economy.”
– Techla, June 9, 2025
This recognition shows that the conversation around circular economy is gaining momentum.
Why a Podcast?
Podcasts are a powerful medium. They allow people to learn, connect, and reflect—whether they’re on the go or at home. More importantly, podcasts give space to voices that don’t always appear in mainstream media.
That’s why we created Trash Talks. It’s part of Muta’s broader mission: to build community, share knowledge, and drive collective action for a regenerative future.
